Description

This two-day workshop is an introduction to dyeing natural fibres with botanicals. Students will be working outside if weather permits. You will learn how to harvest plants and flowers that will yield excellent colours in the dye pot.

Students will create a natural dyed silk scarf project.

We will experiment with colour combinations, non-toxic mordants and a selection of plant and animal fibres (cotton, linen, silk and wool). You will also create a dye journal with swatches and samples. Students will learn everything they need to know to continue their exploration into natural dyes. Students are welcome to bring their own materials or projects (please contact us for details).

*This workshop is non-refundable, please review the date and confirm that it works for your schedule.
