Yvette-Michelle Cottle DarbyCrafted Spaces was established in 2010. We are a sewing studio and creative workspace, offering sewing classes and creative workshops to children and adults. We provide small group classes, private lessons and day camps.

Crafted Spaces is located at 2 Forrester Road, Shanty Bay, south of Ridge Road and Line 3. Our classes are held at our quite home-based studio, nestled among the trees just off Lake Simcoe. We have over thirty different classes to choose from and many of our classes are available for private events, community groups and corporate team building.

Why take a class with us?

At Crafted Spaces we love helping you bring your creativity to life. Whether you are a beginner or someone looking to advance your creative skills, there is something for everyone. The owner, program coordinator and main instructor Yvette-Michelle Cottle Darby along with our other talented guest instructors are happy to share their skills and knowledge with you.

Through our various classes and workshops, you will develop the skills and confidence needed to explore new projects. Classes are available for children 6+, youths 11+ and adults of all skill levels. Our classes include fun projects that will help you learn lifelong creative skills. Each class is taught by a creative professional, and has been tested and proven to get results. We also offer you ongoing support and access to our sewing studio and creative workspace. We are available every step of the way, as you build your craft and continue to explore your creativity.

In addition to our classes and workshops, we also sell patterns, sewing supplies, kits, creative books and fun crafty goodies. Crafted Spaces can also bring the fun to you, and is available in Barrie, Toronto, and surrounding areas.

COVID 19 Update

Our studio is currently closed to in person shopping and group classes. However, our online shop is open and we are available for curb side pick up and shipping via Canada Post. We are offering live online classes, and private one-on-one in-person sessions. We do not know when we will resume our in-person group classes. We ask that you are patient with us as we find ways to safely deliver our classes to you. Registration for several classes are now available. Please see class descriptions for more details. Thank you and stay safe!
